California’s Butterflies |
Predators |
There are many predators of butterflies. Most of these predators feed upon the larvae of butterflies. The larvae of butterflies and other Lepidoptera probably play a large role in rearing of bird young. The butterflies are also food sources to birds that flycatch.
Most Arthropod predators of butterflies are probably crab spiders and various Reduviid bugs that live in wait within flowers.
