Mimicry |
|
There are many kinds of mimicry. One type is mimicking a toxic species. Birds that learn that a certain butterfly coloration is toxic learn to avoid all butterflies that look like this pattern. These mimics can be toxic themselves or not toxic. Another type of mimicry is looking like something that is not a butterfly, like mimicking a leaf or a piece of wood. |
